Yesterday we drove to France for the day (that sounds so strange, but I love saying it!). Strasbourg, France is just an hour and a half drive from us, so we took advantage of a free Saturday. This trip was the girls' first choice of a place to visit and they both screamed as we crossed the border.

| The best part of their day...outdoor ice skating. |

We went on a boat tour of the canal and saw amazing, historical places, such as a theater where Mozart performed. Evidence of the wars and bombings are around each corner. |

The city was a mix of French and German influences, and looked just as I imagined France to be! Their history is also a mix of rich culture and irony. Hundreds of years ago this beautiful bridge that we are standing on was used to display torture of adulterous women, and many were tortured by drowning in their own waste. Lovely.
We visited the Cathedral of Notre Dame of Stasbourg and was awed by its beauty and detail in the architecture. The girls lit candles in memory of Papaw Brown, Great Grandpa White, and Great Grandpa Mathews. I could post so many more pictures...it was a great first trip for us!
